Announcing…
October 30th, 2008
The SkepticBlog has officially launched. I will be blogging there once per week on Fridays as a part of an effort to promote skeptical and critical thinking by the fabulous team of The Skeptologists. I don’t know that I’ll only blog science there, but that would make sense. In any case, it will be different stuff from what you read and watch here. So, go ahead and add it to your RSS feed reader as something else to ingest with your morning coffee.

Why are almost all skeptics men? I think you’re the only female there, no?
I’ve been a minion of TWIS for a while now and I love you and Justin. And now I find out you’re a skeptic blogger, too? I just randomly saw your name on the sidebar over at the new skepticblog and thought, “Where do I know this person?” Now I know! Keep up the good work, we could use more women in the science/skepticism arenas. Right now it’s a total sausagefest.
Jacob – If you think ‘why are almost all skeptics men’, then perhaps you should read the presentation I did at the last Australian Skeptics conference here: http://podblack.com/?page_id=742
and maybe the ongoing series I’ve been doing on Women and Superstitions, here: http://podblack.com/?p=1000
If you have any particular questions, would be happy to answer them!
Part of my dissertation (and several upcoming journal articles!) involves gender differences and the sheep/goat scales. Possibly the largest study done in this country yet! 🙂
Back to the topic of this post – I’d be interested in reading on the blog about what led you towards a media career, actually… in particular, the preferred formats you use?
